DECORATED MARINE VETERAN DAVID KNEZEK TO JOIN MISS MICHIGAN USA CHANEL JOHNSON AS PARADE GRAND MARSHALS


The Garden City Downtown Development Authority Santaland Parade is happy to announce that former State Senator and State Representative David Knezek will join Chanel Johnson, Miss Michigan USA 2020 as Grand Marshals for the 2019 Santaland Parade.

David is currently the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Michigan Attorney General's office. 

On September 21, 2019, Chanel was named Miss Michigan USA 2020. She is 26 years old, was raised in Southfield and graduated from Groves High School.

She received her B.S. in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University in December 2016 and is currently serving as a probation officer for the State of Michigan in Oakland County.

She will represent the State of Michigan in the 2020 Miss USA pageant in Ohio in April 2020.

Her platform will focus on promoting positive behavior and good decision making among our youth. She plans to do a school tour that focuses on middle schools throughout the Detroit and Metro Detroit area.

Join Chanel along with four high school marching bands, Roary from the Detroit Lions and Paws from the Detroit Tigers, the Redford Unicycle Club, the Garden City High School Homecoming Court, Stan the Fireman, the Great Lakes Garrison Star Wars group, Santa and more at the 59th Annual Garden City Downtown Development Authority Santaland Parade, Saturday, November 30 at 10am. This year's theme is "Christmas at the Movies."
